Free Critiques for WORLD KINDNESS DAY!

Hi guys! Today on Facebook, the talented and awesome author Donna Gephart posted a link to a story about World Kindness Day, and I got all excited that there actually was such a thing. World Kindness. That's just spectacular. I love it!

It got me to thinking of all the kindness I've received in my own life, like Stina Lindenblatt offering to do all my author photos for me. Like all the folks who have offered to read my work, unasked, in an effort to help me grow as a writer. It made me think of the career advice author Janet Gurtler has given me, the encouragement from friends like Angela Townsend, and phone conversations with people like Martina Boone, helping me work through plot snarls. I am blessed to have the support of hundreds of writers online, and here in my home city. Your thoughtfulness gives me strength when times are tough!

Between Becca and I, we could fill an ocean with the kindness given to us--friendship, exposure, support and words of encouragement and expertise. Thank you!

We wanted to give a little back today, so we are offering a small giveaway: 6 critiques of your manuscript's first 250 words.

Oh, but there's a catch! We want you to spread some kindness as well, so we're asking you to enter someone else's name for the 250 word critique, along with your own. THREE of you will earn a 250 word critique for yourself and your friend!

This is a one-day only giveaway! All you have to do is leave a comment with some contact information so we can get hold of you, and the name of the person you'd like to win a critique with. Easy-peasy! :)

Ready? Set? GO!

**Contest is now closed! Winners will be announced this weekend! Thanks for entering, and good luck!**

Hey girls! I'd actually like to win it for two of my friends (not myself). Kelley Harvey on contactme@kelleyharvey.com and Lizzy Frohele on lizzyfroehle@gmail.com.

They are both wonderful new writers and I'd like to help them out in any way that I can (I would also like this to be a nice surprise for them!).

Fingers crossed, huh?

Fiona

World Kindness Day? How fantastic!

I'd nominate my friend Alison Stevens for the free critique. If I win, I'll probably nominate another of my friends for the other critique since I write picture books.

What a great way to celebrate. You guys are perennially awesome!

You two are so amazing! I'd like to enter two of my friends (instead of me and a friend): Christina Farley and Carmella Van Vleet, who I know are working hard on their latest novels.

How cool, World Kindness Day! Aw, if only that could be every day. I once heard someone say a little bit of kindness goes a long way, and it's sooooooo true, isn't it?
